To mark the upcoming final season of Game of Thrones, Adidas has partnered with HBO to launch a line of six shoes inspired by the fascinating and violent world created by George R. R. Martin.
What better way to celebrate what is probably the most anticipated TV event in history than with… a pair of sneakers? Well, it seems that’s precisely what fans are craving, and that’s what Adidas will deliver.
The German sportswear powerhouse will be releasing six pairs of shoes based on the most iconic houses and characters of the show, including Daenerys’s dragons, House Targaryen, House Stark, House Lannister and the Night’s Watch. Even the White Walkers are getting their own pumped up kicks.
Estimated price will be somewhere between $180 and $250, and although we still don’t have an official release date, we suspect they’ll drop around April to coincide with the premiere of season eight.
The company’s previous TV series-inspired effort was their line of Dragon Ball themed shoes based on the Adidas Ultra Tech and, well, those have been mercilessly slammed to oblivion. And not entirely unwarranted, we have to say. Those are really ugly.
The new Game of Thrones line is based on Adidas’ UltraBoost 4.0 design and each shoe will feature GoT themed slogan inscribed on a tab on the heel.
The shoes now join the cooking books, furniture, official wine and other weird Game of Thrones merchandise that has come out thanks to the insane popularity of the show.
So remember the date: season eight debuts Monday, April 15 in Australia.
