“The One Where Ross Became A Thief.”
Last month, a man from Blackpool in the UK stole a crate of beer from a local restaurant. After obtaining CCTV footage of the theft, the police posted it on Facebook, asking their followers to help identify the crook.
“Do you recognize this man?” they wrote.
Thankfully, everyone knew who the suspect was: it was Ross Geller from Friends!
“I don’t think it’s been this guy’s day, his week, his month or even his year,” one commenter joked, referencing the NBC sitcom’s theme song.
Another referenced the show’s method of naming its episodes, saying: “The One Where Ross Became A Thief.”
Others talked about his accomplices. One user said something about the getaway driver possibly being “stuck in 2nd gear”, another imagined the aliases of his friends: “Chenandler Bong, Regina Phalange and Ken Adams.”
The post quickly went viral, receiving more than 79,000 shares and over 120,000 comments.
It eventually reached Friends star David Schwimmer himself, who denied any involvement in the robbery.

And true enough, it really wasn’t him. The cops have confirmed that his alibi is rock solid. Whew!
“Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses,” they said. “We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We’re so sorry it has to be this way.”
