The elusive UK street artist’s works are priceless – or price less, rather.
At the recently-concluded World Travel Market London trade fair, Banksy put up his first ever stall and had zero sales. The reason? He gave away all his stuff for free.
For the event, Banksy made a replica separation barrier, which highlights The Walled Off Hotel, the installation he put up along the West Bank to criticise the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
“I’ve painted a replica separation barrier to promote the Walled Off hotel,” he wrote. “Ironically the neighbours have complained it’s too tall.”

. Opening my first ever stall at a trade fair next week. I’ve painted a replica separation barrier to promote the Walled Off hotel, ironically the neighbours have complained it’s too tall. We’ll be at the Palestine stand giving away free stuff, World Travel Fair, London Excel centre 6th and 7th November. Free to get in if you register online today and pretend to be a travel agent.
He also gave away 1,000 posters of his work Palestine for free in each day of the fair. The only condition was that those interested in getting a poster should “pretend to be a travel agent.”
Suffice to say, thousands of people pretended to be travel agents at World Travel Market. Well played, Banksy!
If you’re interested in getting a copy of Palestine, he’s also made the poster available for download or print for free on his official website.
