A campaign advertisement released to endorse U.S President Donald Trump has made its way onto prime television time before being banned from major US TV networks.
This ad highlighted that the Democrats let in Luis Bracamontes, an illegal immigrant who was convicted of killing two police officers in California in 2014, and asked who else they would let into the country.
Videos of the caravan of immigrants fleeing Central America was placed underneath those texts, implying that immigration was linked to crime.
CNN was one station that had refused to air the ad altogether but it wasn’t until after facing massive backlash that other TV networks, such as Fox News and NBC, that it was pulled from the screens.
Facebook also faced backlash and has since pulled it off paid promotion.
