Chilling moment CNN staff flee building LIVE on-air during pipe bomb threat

There’s been chaos in America this morning after “functional” pipe bombs were sent to the CNN offices in New York.

Earlier, pipe bombs were intercepted by police that were intended for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

In an extraordinary moment, CNN news anchors Poppy Harlow and Jim Sciutto were reporting on this when they quickly became the subjects of their own story.

Staff can be seen fleeing the building after authorities evacuated the building when they found a pipe bomb sent to the New York office.

The pair shared a concerned glance, before cutting to an interview with former FBI assistant director Thomas Fuentes.

After evacuating the building, Harlow has tweeted that CNN staff have been allowed back into the building.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
