Thousands of protesters blinded the Opera House with flashlights to disrupt the Everest Racing promotion

Even though the Sydney community has expressed outrage over the usage of The Sydney Opera House as a billboard for the Everest horse racing promotion, the government still went ahead and plastered the ad all over the Opera House sails on Tuesday.

Getting wind of protesters coming to disrupt the light show, the illuminations were brought forward an hour to try and escape the protest, but this did not stop more than 1000 people to come and express their dislike.

People booed and brought flashlights to try and mask the advertisement shown on the Opera House.

Even big companies such as Sydney based lighting company, ALIA, came forward to protest and brought in the big guns, using spotlights normally used in music festivals, to join in and shine a light to obscure the Everest ads.
