Australian man films massive python slithering up his house

Just another day in Australia.

Robbie Knills was recently hanging out his laundry at his Mudgeeraba residence in Gold Coast recently when he spotted an intruder: not a burglar, but rather, a python.

In a video that’s already gone viral on Facebook, the three-metre-long snake can be seen coming out of the bushes and slithering up the side of the man’s house. In a separate photo, an animal control expert subdues the reptile shortly after the daring climb.

“I am glad it was me hanging out the washing because the wife would probably never do it again if it was her,” said Knills, describing the encounter.

But in a strange twist, it turns out that Knills actually knew the python.

In an interview with myGC, he explained that the snake had been living in the roof of his shed for about six months when it decided to come out to look for food.

“I freaked out the first time I saw him but then after a while I got used to it,” he said. “He just hangs out. He comes out and sees me when I’m working in the shed. I don’t trouble him and he doesn’t trouble me.

“He was on the shed door once and wouldn’t get off so had to get him down and move him,” he added. “Normally when he is on the top of the garage door I can just poke him and he moves over so I can open it.”
