Britney Spears’ 2003 hit Toxic isn’t what you’d typically include in your summertime playlist, but thanks to one Canadian band, it now should be.
Toronto-based all-girl Surf Rock group Surfrajettes has released a cover that takes the classic Britney Spears song and gives it a Beach Boys vibe. Their cover is vocal-free, allowing you to enjoy the unexpectedly psychedelic take that’ll make you want to throw a pool party.
Their outfits are a charming bonus too, with vintage hairstyles and retro-chic clothes that perfectly complement the cover’s upbeat energy.
Other than the epic cover song, the Surfrajettes have also put out other works, such as a three-song self-titled EP which features the singles Cha Cha Heels, Mrs. Moto, and Undercover Secretary. You can find out more about them here.
