If you’re the sort of person with your finger on the pulse of Australian music, then you may have heard of the Sydney-based Melbourne-bred singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, LANKS.
LANKS is the moniker of Will Cumings, who has delivered consistently over the last few years, releasing three EPs in consecutive years before taking a break in 2017 to follow up with his first album, twentyseven.
The album was released on the 27th of April and has been described as being about the anxiety and pressure LANKS felt in trying to reach achievements by the time he reached the age of 27.
LANKS visited the Lost at E Minor rooftop and performed the lead single from his new album of the same name. The track, twentyseven, has been completely stripped back from its electronic, beat-heavy origin. LANKS transforms the song into a very different sounding, more vocal-focused tune.
He remarked that getting opportunities to perform his own music in different arrangements is always an enjoyable experience and keeps the music fresh.
LANKS will set off on a 12-show tour of Australia at the beginning of August.
