Vans is releasing a Captain Marvel shoe, and it looks super!

Images of the new Vans x Captain Marvel sneakers have surfaced online, prompting fans of both the clothing brand and the comics to enter a state of mass hysteria.

If you’ve seen Avengers: Infinity War, you probably know by now that the emblem flashing in Nick Fury’s communication thingie in the post-credits scene belongs to none other than Captain Marvel, who will be having her own movie next year.

One of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe, Captain Marvel started as a Superman knockoff in the 1930s, but has set herself apart in recent years.

To celebrate the upcoming film, Vans has jumped on the comic book hype train by launching a line of sneakers inspired by the character. They will be part of Vans Sk8-Hi high tops line and they feature Captain Marvel’s iconic colour scheme of red, blue, and gold, and the Kree star insignia. Pretty super aren’t they?

The sneakers are currently available as part of the Vans Off The Wall Superheroes collection on a handful of international websites for around US$75 (AUS$98), with North America to follow on June 8.

Set in the 1990s, the upcoming Captain Marvel film will star Academy Award winner Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury.
