Do you want to be a part of an awesome, innovative art project and get a sweet new Sonos One speaker in the process? Well, have we got a deal for you (but, no, steak knives are NOT included).
That’s right, on June 2 and 3, Lost At E Minor and Sonos will be hosting a cool event in Melbourne to celebrate music and creativity across two action-packed days.
First up, you can exchange your dumb old speakers for one of 200 Sonos One smart speakers (with voice control no less). Sublime street artist George Rose will then use those discarded speakers to create an original art installation for you to check out on Sunday.
And even if you’re not one of the first 200 through the doors, you’ll still be a winner. There’ll also be $50 Sonos One vouchers handed out to those in attendance.
In addition to upgrading your crappy old speaker (because it’s dumb, not smart like the Sonos One), and experiencing the live construction of the speaker sculpture, there will be more awesome creativity for you to check out.
Talented Melbourne photographer, Mia McDonald, will be taking snaps on the Saturday of all the revelry. Play your cards right, she might just make you famous!
On Sunday, you can watch celebrated artist, Carla McRae – a multidisciplinary illustrator based in Melbourne – create an incredible artwork live at the venue. Her beautiful, simplistic style is character driven and tells stories about people and places. She’ll also be showing off a few of her stunning canvases on both days of the event.
And guess what? The piece McRae creates on Sunday will be up for grabs in a silent auction, with all proceeds going to The Song Room, a not-for-profit organisation providing Australia’s most disadvantaged children with high-quality music and arts programs.
In other words, you’ll get the chance to nab a world-class piece of art and be a good human.
Oh, and of course some wicked tunes will be spinning throughout the weekend courtesy of the Sonos One and a bespoke playlist created by Human Movement, the critically acclaimed duo you may have seen at Groovin The Moo, Splendour In The Grass, Strawberry Fields and Lost Paradise.
This not-to-be-missed event (yes, caffeine WILL be provided) will be an inspiring celebration of music and creativity, all held in one of Melbourne’s liveliest areas! Be sure to get along.
