Don’t you just hate uninvited guests?
Last month in Lake Merritt in Oakland, an unnamed woman bugged a black family for two hours then called the police on them because they were having a BBQ.
Footage of the incident, captured by witness Michelle Snider, shows the woman telling the family to leave because charcoal grills are illegal in the park. Once the police arrive, she breaks down and cries.
“This is exactly what is the problem with Oakland today,” Snider said. “This lady wants to sit here and call the police on them for having a barbecue at the lake as if this is not normal.”
According to others at the scene, the woman also said that the park was hers.
“She said that we were trespassing, we were not welcome, and then she turned back around and said, ‘Y’all going to jail’,” said Snider’s husband, Kenzie Smith.
Thankfully, the police arrested no one. In fact, the cops told the woman to stop harassing others, and clarified that the black family was having their BBQ in a permitted zone.
Even better, the family invited everyone to their feast. Just look at how many people there were the next day!

The incident is only one of many strange racism cases that have made recent headlines.
A few days ago in Yale, a student called the cops on a black student who fell asleep in the dorm common room. Last month in Philadelphia, a Starbucks barista had two black men arrested after they waited for a friend inside the café premises.
