In Japan, there’s a strange festival dedicated to women’s farts

Psshh, forget Coachella and Burning Man. Japan’s ‘Everyone Listen to the Farts of Beautiful Women Party Vol.2’ festival is where it’s at.

On the 3rd of March in Tokyo, hot-blooded Japanese men everywhere will attend a one-of-a-kind event celebrating the flatulence of women.

Aptly called ‘Everyone Listen to the Farts of Beautiful Women Party Vol.2’, the festival will let attendees listen to and smell the farts of Japanese adult video (JAV) models. A press release about it reads:

“All 120million fart fans across the country, we are sorry to have kept you waiting so long… Lefkada Shinjuku is the only place in the world where you can stimulate your senses of sight and smell with beautiful women delivering various styles of farts.

“Various styles of farts, such as farts while wearing street clothes, farts while wearing swimsuits, and farts while wearing cosplay outfits will stimulate your sense of sight and smell.”

Interestingly, the event will be held on the same day as Hina Matsuri, or Girl’s Day. It’s an annual event marking the transition of young women into adulthood. But instead of sniffing gas, people celebrate the occasion by eating sushi and exhibiting traditional dolls.

The farting festival will feature JAV idols Miu Akemi, Tomoko Akari, and Saiko Yatsuhashi.

There will also be an Onarap Battle wherein contestants have to rap freestyle, then end their turn by letting out a loud one. In case the performers fail to squeeze one out, the organisers have already published a disclaimer:

“Please understand that depending on the physical condition of the performers, farts may not come out.”

For those looking to attend ‘Everyone Listen to the Farts of Beautiful Women Party Vol. 2, ticket prices start at 4,500 yen (US$37 or AUS$47), and will only be available for those 18 and above.
