Watch what happens when sumo wrestlers collide in slow motion

Sumo wrestling is captivating to watch, but who knew it’d even be more captivating when viewed through slow motion?

In the following footage by YouTube channel ‘The Slow Mo Guys’, two professional sumo wrestlers go at it while being filmed by 4k high-speed cameras.

The result? An amusing look at shockwaves rippling through the skin of these massive human beings. With each athlete weighing over 500 lbs, it’s like seeing two trucks crashing into each other in a head-on collision. Albeit instead of car parts flying around, it’s their excess skin flapping violently in every direction.

As a bonus, they also had host Dan Gruchy compete with one of the sumo wrestlers. Unsurprisingly, it did not end well for him.

Previously, we wrote about a sumo wrestling competition in Japan that has a giant macaron as a consolation prize. Check it out!
