At first, these two photos might seem like they were taken from different angles, but would you believe they’re actually one and the same?
On Reddit, two photos of a truck driving down a road has blown people’s minds. Everyone seems to think that the white line along the pavement is slightly more tilted than the one in the first.
However, the two pictures are actually the same photo side by side. The two roads are parallel to each other, despite what your brain is trying to tell you.
Not convinced? Here’s proof.
It’s hard to fathom how the same images, placed side by side, could make us see differently, but Redditor ‘All-Cal’ tries to make sense of it, saying:
“It’s because the 2 streets come together at the bottom of the pictures. Your brain tries to perceive this as one image with a fork in the road and therefore the street in the picture on the left must be at a different angle than the picture on the right.”
Think of it as the real-life version of another mind trick that went viral last year, the Café Wall illusion.
