Never take a selfie in front of a moving train, just like what this man did

In Hyderabad, India, a man figured in a completely avoidable accident involving a train and a… selfie.

The man, only identified as Shiva, was trying to take a selfie video of himself pointing to a speeding train when he miscalculated his distance from the tracks. The resulting collision earned him a trip to the hospital – but thankfully, not the morgue.

The video Shiva captured shows him smiling and pointing to the oncoming locomotive. The train blares its whistle, warning him to get out of the way. But he stays put. The next moment, everything goes blurry as his head is slammed onto the ground. Only the audio remains as his friends rush to help him.

Sadly, many others – Indians, especially – have endangered themselves by taking selfies in dangerous places. In fact, about 60 percent of the world’s selfie deaths between March 2014 and September 2016 happened in India.

That’s the highest number of selfie-related deaths than any other country in the world. Sheesh, you’d think people would learn already.
