This couple’s maternity photoshoot with a kitten is just purrfect

We’re calling it as early as now. We’ve already found the couple of the year.

Lucy Schultz and her partner Steven have gone to new heights to celebrate the milestone that is the adoption of a pet. It’s a little weird, but it’s 100 percent hilarious.

On January 14, the couple posted an album on Facebook under the event ‘New Baby’. When it was identified that this new baby was, in fact, a kitten, the maternity album went viral, receiving more than 27,000 likes and 74,000 shares.

The photos definitely take the idea of pets as family members to a whole other level.

“I’d been talking about doing a kitten announcement shoot when I was finally ready to adopt for over a year,” Schultz told BuzzFeed News. “I just wanted to celebrate my cat adoption milestone as it’s something I’ve dreamed of and worked hard for.”

Shultz was extremely lucky to have her friend Elizabeth ready to capture the moment. After Schultz found her baby at the shelter, it was all up to Elizabeth to snap the celebrations.

“With all three people giving him all the attention and petting him, the cat was in heaven! He even slept through most of it once he was wrapped in his baby blanket,” Shultz said.

Shultz has had thousands of comments joining in on the fun. She has even had offers for cat dates when her kitten is older.

Cats are people now.
