What do you get when you stage a highly-convincing murder prank? You’ll probably get some laughs, but you’ll most likely get a visit from the police.
That’s what happened when Ohio couple Micah Risner and Nataleigh Schlette staged a murder by putting ketchup and a knife on the latter while she was in the bathtub, then texting friends and family about it.
Those who fell for it called up 911, and the cops soon came knocking on the couple’s door. After realising it was all a joke, authorities arrested the two for inducing panic.
Apparently, the pair did the prank to get Risner’s sister – who had stolen money from them – to get her to show up. Once the prank was set, Risner sent a text to his sister.
It read: “Please help me! I really didn’t mean to. I don’t remember. We was arguing and I woke up to this.”
She then responded, “What the fuck is she dead Michah?? Answer me now!!”
To which he replied: “I woke up on the bathroom floor with blood on me. And her like that. I’m trying to clean. But I don’t know if I shoumd.”
When their mum found out about this, she went straight to the cops. Micah and Nataleigh have since admitted that the prank did go out of hand, but have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
“It did go a bit too far. My sense of humor is a little vulgar I admit that. But it’s who I am. I’m not out to hurt or make anyone panic,” said Risner.
