A taco truck saved the day by selling tacos during a traffic jam

Traffic jams are the worst and nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, could ever make up for these infernal things. Well, except maybe tacos.

Last week, a propane tank rolled over and caused Seattle’s I-5 and I-90 freeways to completely shutdown. Motorists were stuck for hours and all seemed hopeless. That is, until, a bunch of heroes came along.

“I got out and was walking around, and I see this lady walking back to her car with a to-go box,” said Rachael McQuade, who along with her husband, got stranded on the road for three hours.

Apparently, the taco truck called Tacos El Tajin decided to serve lunch in the middle of the freeway, to the delight of hungry motorists around them.

“It saved my life, we were starving,” said Armetris Lindsey, who posted a photo of his burrito on Facebook.

McQuade, who ordered two steak and two chicken tacos, added: “What do you do in a time like that? You got to make the best of it, right?”

According to Thomas Lopez, owner of Tacos El Tajin, his three employees were driving the truck to South Lake Union when the accident happened. But instead of just sitting around, the men sprang into action to save the day.

“We are ready to serve food, everywhere,” Lopez said.
