Receipts aren’t just for paying your bill anymore. Now they can be used to stick it US President Donald Trump!
Chef Mark Simmons, who originally hails from New Zealand, opened his restaurant Kiwiana in Brooklyn in 2011 and proudly serves traditionally New Zealand cuisine to Americans.
As an immigrant to the USA himself, Simmons seems rather discontent with President Trump’s immigration policies, which have received a fair bit of flak (understatement of the year) from the public. Trump’s decision to ban immigrants from seven Muslim-majority nations has come under fire, while it has also been ruled unconstitutional by the courts.
The chef has taken to getting his revenge on the President in perhaps the best way any chef knows how – through the power of his food.
Any patron who dines in Kiwiana will receive their receipt which at the bottom features a message to Trump – “Immigrants make America great (they also cooked and served your food today).”
Journalist Emily O’Hara posted a copy of her receipt to Twitter and is has since received over 97,000 retweets and 256,000 likes.

Good on you Mark, for finding a non-violent way to give a big metaphorical middle finger to the policies you oppose.
