Dog abandoned at gas station now works there as an adorable greeter

He might not have a salary and a pension, but he sure does get a lot of treats and belly rubs!

In the town of Mogi das Cruzes in Brazil, a dog named Negão was abandoned by his owner near a then under-construction Shell gas station. Fortunately for the pup, he was spotted by Sabrina Plannerer, the co-owner of the gas station, and took him in.

“We adopted him immediately and got him all the care animals need,” Plannerer told The Dodo. “We took him to the vet to get vaccinated and de-wormed. We bought him food, a dog house, and a leash to take him on walks.”

And once the gas station opened for business, they even hired Negão! He even has the work ID to prove it!

“Negão waits for people to arrive, and then goes up to say hello, winning them over with his charms,” added Plannerer. “Customers love him. Some people even bring him toys.”

On his ‘coffee breaks’, the dog goes on walks with Plannerer or his colleagues. He also loves to sleep on the job – but his boss really doesn’t mind.

And as for overtime? He stays there at night, but that’s only because he and his co-workers like to keep each other safe and entertained.

Apart from being a greeter, Negão has also become a sort-of spokesperson (or spokesdog), encouraging other businesses to adopt strays and turn them into their cutest employees.
