Australians are well known for our ‘she’ll be right’ attitude.
But as one unlucky punter found out, sometimes…she isn’t right.
Melbourne was hit by some pretty serious rainfall yesterday causing streets all over the city to turn into temporary rivers.
This didn’t stop one driver, who was caught on camera plunging his car into a massive ‘puddle’ of water near the York Street Bridge in South Melbourne.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the car didn’t fare well, promptly getting stuck as the water levels got too deep.
And while this in itself is pretty funny – it was made better by a friendly neighbourhood larrikin.
For a laugh, Paris Diaz Jordanou brought his fishing down to the flooded road, and when he saw the car start to sink, he did this:

“The camera crews literally just set up and wait for someone to drive through,” Mr Jordanou told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“I’ve jumped out in front and you can hear me saying ‘I caught him’.”
And while it may look as though Paris was just trying taking the mickey, he was initially trying to help.
“I was yelling ‘no, no, no’,” he said.
“But he must of thought I was saying ‘go, go, go’ – he must have got scared.”
Ah Australia, never change.
