In his latest series, entitled Plant Your Mac!, artist Christophe Guinet turns old and abandoned Apple products into pots for plants.
The French artist mostly took Macintosh computers from the 1990s, including the iMac G3, the Powerbook, and the Macintosh Classic. He then integrated various exotic plant species in these gadgets, with some popping out of screens, and others growing within crevices.
The resulting contrast between Apple’s clean, minimalist design and the vivid, lush foliage is something to behold.
According to Guinet, also known as Monsieur Plant, the series hopes to make us disconnect from technology and bring back a little nature into our lives.
“I want to make people conscious that nature exists because we tend to forget it in the city. We’re manipulated by trend phenomenon that creates useless needs,” he told Garden Collage. “We’re continually inclined to consume. Ultimately, the more we consume, the more we destroy,” he said.
