As winter nears, quirky cafes in Melbourne are warming things up with some incredible chocolaty drinks.
From campfire-inspired hot chocolate to drinks that look like a fairy floss tower, it seems like the local cafes are trying to outdo each other in creating the coolest cup of ‘cacao elixirs’.
First, we have Mork Chocolate. The cafe serves a campfire-themed chocolate consisting of an upturned smoky glass, a toasted marshmallow, and a jug of hot melted chocolate. Yum!
Their signature drink, meanwhile, is served in a beaker of thick hot melted choco alongside a towering cup of snow white fairy floss. When you pour the thick chocolate over the fairy floss, you’ll see the candy floss tower melt into thin air.
So yeah, it kinda feels like you’re working on a science experiment – albeit one you can actually ingest.
Liquid nitrogen expert, Dex2Rose joins the competition with their sexy hot chocolate set: Mist in the Woods. The chocolate board comes with a mug of melted hot chocolate, a side of gelato, frozen chopped up raspberries and marshmallows.
Oh, did I mention bonfire? It comes with a little bonfire that allows you to roast your own marshmallow. Pretty cool, eh? It also includes rose-scented liquid nitrogen that gives the drink a cinematic fairy-tale-like smoky effect.
‘Mist in the Wood’ is definitely one of the most pimped out hot chocolate you’ll ever get in Australia. Period.
These are just some of the most extravagant ones that have been taking social media by storm. Who knows how many more of these quirky drinks are out there waiting to be discovered? This is Melbourne, after all.
