New advert imagines mainstream British politics in a school full of five-year-olds

The United Kingdom’s Green party released a new advert, ahead of local elections in May, entitled ‘The not so secret life of five-year-old politicians’, presenting politicians from the mainstream parties as misbehaving children running riot around a nursery school.

While there’s more than a faint air of humour around the whole thing, it’s also worryingly familiar.

The ad reflects some popular criticism of the behaviour of Conservative and Labour politicians, with the Greens offering an alternative to the ‘Punch and Judy politics’.

Suspend your political leanings for a few minutes and enjoy this whimsical world of midget megalomaniacs doing a fair imitation of their adult counterparts.
