Berlin-based illustrator Lap Pun Cheung has created a short series that imagines Star Wars through the eyes of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
The illustrations depict a galaxy far, far away with the charming and whimsical aesthetic of the Japanese animation studio. For instance, instead of talking inside a high-tech spaceship, Han Solo and the others are huddled around a cosy campfire.
Other design details include the Millennium Falcon turned into a plane, Imperial Star Destroyers as blimps, and Darth Maul wearing a Princess Mononoke mask.
Now if Cheung could only make that horrible ‘The Force Awakens’ death child-friendly, then this would be perfect.
