Embroidery surprisingly looks amazing on old tennis and badminton rackets

Tennis and badminton rackets are plenty useful for, well, playing tennis and badminton. But did you know they’re also pretty handy as frames?

Cape Town-based artist Danielle Clough embroiders colourful and vibrant artworks depicting a wide range of subjects, from flowers to birds to even emojis. She uses thick, bright threads for every piece, making each one pop with depth and texture. And to put on the finishing touches, she uses vintage badminton and tennis rackets in lieu of traditional frames.

Great if you’ve already given up on your 2016 fitness goals and have no other use for that racket. See more of Danielle Clough’s work over on Instagram
