Priest is suspended after hoverboarding his way down the church aisle

One priest in The Philippines got everybody’s attention — and got himself suspended — after giving a sermon while cruising through the church… on a hoverboard!

It happened during Christmas Eve mass at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish in Biñan, south of Manila — perhaps that hoverboard was an early gift from Santa? But instead of Father Albert San Jose’s superiors enjoying the spirit of his hoverboarding sermon, this poor priest was put on suspension.

‘The Eucharist demands utmost respect and reverence’, the diocese wrote in a statement after the incident. ‘It is the Memorial of the Lord’s Sacrifice. It is the source and summit of Christian life. It is the Church’s highest form of worship. Consequently, it is not a personal celebration where one can capriciously introduce something to get the attention of the people’.

So far, the diocese has received countless messages on Facebook applauding the priest for his lively (and innovative) mass, but it’s doubtful the diocese will change its mind about their rules regarding hoverboarding.
