A steel guitar made out of a skateboard deck totally rocks

If music and skateboarding made a baby, then the ‘Lap Skate Guitar’ would probably be their beautiful (and functional) offspring.

Created by New York-based artist Hector Tepuy of Stereotank, the Lap Skate Guitar is a cross between a skateboard deck and an electric guitar. It features components such as a ¼” input jack, an electric guitar bridge, one volume know, one guitar pick-up, six tuning pegs, and one lock nut.

When played, it sounds just like a lap steel guitar. And even though it doesn’t have wheels, the Lap Skate Guitar is small enough to be stashed away in a backpack. Check out the video below to hear it make sweet, sweet music.
