Artist makes orbs that capture the beauty of outer space

The universe is a big place (obviously an understatement), but Japanese artist Satoshi Tomizu has found a way to contain its cosmic beauty using small glass spheres.

Called ‘Space Glass’, the tiny orbs contain what looks like an entire solar system, when in fact, they’re all sorts of elements cleverly and artistically arranged to appear so. The planets are made up of opals, the stars from flecks of scattered gold, and its mystical cosmic look from coloured glass swirling about.

The glass orbs even come with a loop, so you can wear these beauties around like a pendant. You can see more of Tomizu’s works over on Facebook.
