We can’t go a week without seeing some celebrity in the news being arrested and having their mug shot plastered all over social media. And this has been happening for years! So what better time than now to dig up some vintage mug shots and plaster those on social media.
Wondering why your favourite icon got in trouble with the law?
Kurt Cobain was arrested twice — once in 1985 for writing ‘Ain’t got no how watchamacallit’ on the side of a building in Aberdeen, Washington, and the second time a year later (which is where his mug shot is from) for trespassing onto the roof of an abandoned warehouse.
Jane Fonda explained on her website that she was arrested back in 1970 when travelling back to the U.S. from Canada. Her luggage was seized and cops discovered large bags containing little plastic envelopes marked ‘B’, ‘L’ and ‘D’. These envelopes were confiscated and Fonda was arrested for drug smuggling. Turns out, those envelopes were full of vitamins, with ‘B’, ‘L’ and ‘D’ standing for Lunch, Breakfast and Dinner.
And Johnny Cash? Well, he was arrested quite a few times during his life — seven times in fact. Arrests were made for amphetamine possession, public drunkenness, reckless driving, and err, picking flowers in the yard of a stranger’s home at 2am.
