Do you have a narcissistic friend? There’s only one question you need to ask them to prove it!

Scientists identify narcissists as people with three traits: An unrealistic sense of their superiority, entitlement, and a lack of empathy for others. Sound familiar? Perhaps you know a friend with narcissistic traits, or, god forbid, a boss. But one question will reveal if you (or they) are actual narcissists.

The question? ‘Are you a narcissist?’ Yup, that’s the only question you ever need to ask a narcissist to found out if they are one. It’s all very simple. For decades, scientists have used a 40-question survey called the Narcissistic Personality Inventory to identify narcissism, but recently scientists developed the Single-Item Narcissism Scale which consists of one question: ‘To what extent do you agree with this statement – I am a narcissist‘. Results from both the long survey and this one-question survey have been nearly identical!

This just goes to show that narcissists aren’t afraid to admit that they’re egotistical, self-focused and vain.
