Music can now be created through the expressions on your face

Created as an urban design experiment, The Sound of Emotion is a tech-infused sculptural work that allows four people to create music, driven solely by the expressions on their face.

Housing four iPads, each representing its own musical instrument, and proprietary expression recognition software, the goal of this interactive piece is to bring disparate people together and give them an opportunity to interact.

The installation was created by designer Paul Pillitteri, for San Francisco’s ‘Market Street Prototyping Festival‘ where it was received with, um… exuberant emotion.

The Sound of Emotion is currently on display at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts – more information can be found here.
