In her delectable series ‘Pantone Smoothies’, art director Hedvig Astrom Kushner matches the different shades of her favourite beverage with that of specific swatches.
Made in collaboration with photographer Michael Kushner, the series came to be after Hedvig noticed that mixing fruits in a blender worked like mixing paint. Since then she’s mixed and matched various ingredients to create smoothie colours like Pantone 644 (blueberries), Pantone 5787 (avocado and banana), and Pantone 200U (strawberries and raspberries).
‘Add a strawberry, get a hot pink hue, add some spinach and get a subtle green’, she said. ‘Pantone Smoothies is an artsy little project seeking an answer to the question: is it possible to create tasty smoothies in any Pantone color?’
Head on over to the series’ website to see more, including Kushner’s recipes for each smoothie!
