Hipcamp is like Airbnb but for campers on undeveloped land

Love Airbnb but feel the need to get off the grid? Hipcamp is probably what you’re after. This very cool Airbnb-esque set-up allows ecologically-minded campers the opportunity to stay on undeveloped land throughout the U.S. (and hopefully the rest of the world soon).

Hipcamp started out of necessity when founder Alyssa Ravasio became frustrated with how long it took to find a spot to ‘set up camp and watch the first sunrise of 2013 somewhere on a beach’. A simple request turned into too many Chrome tabs being opened and too many knockbacks. So she decided to start a website that connected landowners with campers.

The Hipcamp website is beautifully designed and features all you need to know about the place you want to visit (current weather, elevation, driving time away from your current location). Using Hipcamp is super easy, too. You enter in your requirements (pets allowed, picnic tables, drinking water etc.) and pop in where you want to go explore, and before you know it, you’ve found the perfect location for that 3-day weekend!

Check it out here.
