You’ve seen the great ice hotels of the world but if there was one ingredient you were sure you couldn’t build a hotel out of, it’d be salt. Because salt belongs on the table, right? Well, wrong. Welcome to Bolivia’s Hotel Palacio de Sal.
Located along the world’s largest salt flat (Salar de Uyuni), Hotel Palacio de Sal is a real hotel made out of salt blocks. Oh, but not only that – this hotel’s walls, ceilings, tables, chairs, and beds are also made of salt. It stands at 4,500 square metres and features 30 rooms that look like igloos… salt igloos. The hotel also has a dry sauna, steam room, saltwater pool, and whirlpool baths. Sounds pretty magical.
But if you think you can go here and lick the walls, think again, my friend! Rules have been put in place to prevent guests from licking the walls.
