Reconnect with your inner farmer and milk this bizarre contraption

If you could never picture yourself as a dairy farmer but still want to milk a cow or two, a new contraption allows you to do just that.

The Vache à lait was designed by 5.5 Design Studio and allows consumers to have a better understanding of where their milk comes from every morning… by making them squeeze it themselves. Using this contraption, consumers will squeeze synthetic nursing nipples just like they would milk a real cow, except all the hard work has been done for them.

The concept of Vache à lait is that farmers will milk their cows as normal but then fill these glass vessels with milk and deliver them to households each morning, like a regular milkie. When that raw, unpasteurized milk is delivered to households, families have the opportunity to reconnect with the ‘forgotten pleasures of the past’ by milking the contraption.
