Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner takes off almost vertically in this video

There are two kinds of people in this world: those that get sweaty palms during a takeoff and… pilots who are willing to take a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner almost vertically during takeoff.

This footage shows the incredible capabilities of the new Dreamliner, with test pilots taking it for a spin before the 2015 Paris Air Show. The Dreamliner features 280 seats and costs a whopping $250 million to manufacture.

Of course commercial pilots will never (I hope) take off vertically like this, but it’s a good reminder of how far technology has come since the airplane’s first test ‘drive’ in 1903.
