Would you believe this photograph, and many more, was shot by an octopus?

How would you feel if your photo is taken by an eight-arm photographer who’s a sucker for your smile? Meet Rambo, an octopus at Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium in Auckland, New Zealand.

She is trained to photograph visitors who are happy to strike a pose in front of her tank. ‘When we first tried to get her to take a photo, it only took three attempts for her to understand the process,’ said trainer Mark Vette. ‘That’s faster than a dog. Actually it’s faster than a human in some instances’.

In collaboration with SEA LIFE, Rambo is ‘hired’ by Sony to showcase their camera’s durability under water. For now, Rambo charges US$2 and it all goes toward the aquarium’s conservation programmes. Be sure to check her hours first, as the aquarium has put its resident diva on a light work schedule.
