Instead of viewing the trees as merely plants, SandJo sees them as true pieces of art and photographs them as if they were sculptures or paintings to make you feel as if you were walking in an exhibition. Human shapes, patterns and textures inspire her ‘Magic Lanterns’ series, while her ‘Wonderland’ series is dedicated to the majestic surroundings of London throughout the four seasons.
SandJo says of her work: ‘I’ve always been fascinated, inspired and attracted by trees. How they live, move, feel, grow, spread. How they fight, and then heal, regenerate, age and finally, die. How similar they are to human beings. In a more powerful way. How some survive to us and live across centuries. How much we depend on them’.
