Gemstones are put under the microscope in this beautiful photo series

Danny Sanchez is a Los Angeles-based gemologist and photographer, snapping pictures of gemstones under a microscope. It’s called photomicrography and Sanchez is able to achieve such beautiful results with a few tools he bought from Craigslist and eBay. While every gem is precious, not every one of them has the beauty Sanchez is looking for, for his photo series.

‘If it doesn’t happen for me, I’ll put it down. I’ll just put it away, and I’ll look at something else. Every stone, and every photo, I have to feel excited about it’, he says.

Now, we see plenty of landscape photos that remind us of the beauty in the world, but this takes it to a whole new level.
