These eye-popping patterns are created by lots and lots of people

From far away they look like colourful patterns of red, white, black, blue, and green. But get a little closer and you’ll be blown away-these patterns are made from crowds of people. Created by artist Zhang Bojun, this project took almost seven years to complete.

But instead of getting a bunch of people to dress alike and stand together, Bojun actually took individual pictures over the years then reassembled them to create these fantastic images.

The photo series is titled We and it ‘explores the Chinese people, migration, and the dashed dreams of life in the big city, where workers, who represent the vast majority of the urban population, are unable to settle’.
