Located in the High Tatras Mountains in Slovakia is a frozen lake with water so crystal clear, you can see the rocks and boulders at the bottom in HD quality. One of the hikers in the video, Tomas Nunuk, appears to be walking on air, his feet levitating a few feet above ground.
It seems like a miracle, to have a frozen lake look like that, but it’s all actually science! According to Reddit, murky ice is created when the water freezes too quickly, trapping impurities inside crystal lattice as it crystallizes. The lake’s clear ice, on the other hand, took a longer time to freeze, allowing itself to reject the impurities inside of it.
