Now you can have your cake and eat the plate too, with edible dinnerware

Dishwashers, rejoice! No longer will you have to miss out on your favourite TV shows because you’re stuck in the kitchen cleaning the dishes. There’s a new kind of dinnerware in town: the Do Eat edible verrines.

Made in Belgium with nothing but water and potatoes, these edible cups and bowls adapt to the contents they contain, sweet or savoury. The verrines start to deteriorate after 2 hours, so you’ll have to fill them up and eat them quick. And if you’re looking for something different, you can even pop them in the microwave or fryer to crisp ’em up.

A kit of verrines has a shelf life of around 6 months. But expect to pay a pretty penny for these-about $21 for a container of 25.
