It takes a true artist to look at a set of coloured pencils and imagine something greater for them. Miami-based artist Frederico Uribe is one such person. We showed you his shoelace work back in 2012, but now the artist has come up with something even better.
He takes classic coloured pencils and places each one side-by-side until an incredible sculpture has been produced. I’m in awe, not just of his creativity but for the intricate details in each piece. Uribe describes himself as a ‘conceptual artist resorting to the language of pop art through the use of objects of daily life, but with a formal reference to the history and tradition of classical art’.
