Taking inspiration from five 19th-century novels (The Yellow Wallpaper, The Awakening, The Lifted Veil, Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre) authored by women, Toronto-based photographer Julia Callon presented each novel as dual images of houses, one passive, one mad — not unlike conventional notions of womenhood.
