The world of ‘alternative/new-wave pop’ is so saturated that it’s really all just ‘pop’. And then there are the Roxy Music-ish vocals and sprawling, melo 70s synthesizer jams of North Carolina’s Future Islands that make you feel different enough to rock an asymmetrical haircut and ride a unicycle. They’re visiting Australia for the first time between September 19-21 and then returning to the USA for a very busy November.
