Designer Amandine Alessandra created this ‘ideographico-alphabetic‘ from chairs based on the type theories of linguist Ferdinand de Saussure, who ‘only acknowledged two forms of writing: Alphabetic (letter form and phonetic based) and ideographic (based on pictorial symbols)’.
