The Stone Roses’ Waterfall

This killer track from The Stone Roses takes me way back to a time when I lived with a house full of English backpackers in Sydney’s bustling Bondi Junction, just a short hop, skip and bus to the hedonistic surrounds of Bondi Beach. This was during the mid-1990s, when the UK party culture was quickly usurping traditional Aussie pub rock (Midnight Oil, anyone?) as the Friday night bender, and The Stone Roses, with their terry toweling hats, colourful polo shirts and all round geezer mannerisms, were the very personification of the mid-90s Brit attitude: defiantly sociable, and out for one hell of a good time.
