Zanerobe
The finest tasting meals involve quality ingredients, thoughtfully but simply prepared, and Australian fashion label Zanerobe is proving the previously unthinkable – that this same theory can also apply to men’s casual clothing. Beginning with soft but durable fabrics, their streetwear has a sporty feel and is made to last much longer than the current season.
Several celebrities and sportspeople including Ben Cousins, Benji Marshall and Prince Harry already kit themselves out in Zanerobe’s comfortable clothing, and it’s featured in fashion spreads in magazines including Cleo, FHM and Zoo. Slogans on t-shirts can often go very wrong, but by keeping it simple and sparse, Zanerobe tees are among their most popular and sharpest looking items. This is one for the guys. One of our favourite men’s streetwear labels, Zanerobe, has just released its Fantasy League collection which is inspired by Australia’s fanatacism with sport. Well, it’s true! Designer Jonathan Yeo describes the range as ‘fun and funky’, and he’s on the ball when he say that. On the ball! Gettit. Shucks. The ‘Fashion Faux Pas‘ collection from Brisbane-based Now You Own Us ‘is a collaboration of vibrant colours and impossible prints, bringing this collection into the ever so fashionable unfashionable’. Tailored boardies and satin edged cardigans demonstrate the increasingly chic direction of the label, yet it’s chic without being too smart – suited to any activity you might undertake during a long summer night. It must be in the jeans. The offspring of musical hedonists Richard and Linda Thompson, Teddy Thompson is one hell of a talented songwriter. Since his debut self-titled album came out in 2000, Thompson has been busy working on collaborative projects (including the ‘I’m Your Man’ tribute to Leonard Cohen) and solo recordings. This website hosts a nice collection of quirky, sometimes mind-boggling, sculptures from around the world. There’s a certain Dali-esque feel to a lot of them – those surreal, dreamy hallucinations turned into a warped reality.
